About The Committee

The committee is a group of parents and the wider local community that help to fund and run our preschool. There are 3 main committee roles currently occupied as well as a group of members that aid us in fundraising and events.

The committee is elected for the coming year at the AGM (Annual General Meeting). Our AGM's are held in July. The main roles of Chairperson, Treasurer and Secretary are elected or reelected to continue the running of the Preschool charity. Voting can be recorded by a show of hands or by ballot. At this meeting the treasurer, chairperson and preschool manager give an annual report of the past year.

New members alongside the main roles are able to join our forces to aid with fundraising, ideas and input for the preschool and volunteer work to help run our fundraising events.

You don't have to have oodles of time to be a member, we need parents with special skills, time, ideas, resources and most of all a passion for the preschool.

However big or small the contribution is always welcome.

Chairperson - Paula

Hi everyone I'm Paula, I officially joined the committee in September 2021.

Iā€™m a mum of 2 boys, Matty who currently attends preschool and has for the past year now, and Lucas who is at school.

My background it's Romanian-English Teacher qualified, and Level 2 in teaching in UK, plus I've done Bookkeeping course level 2 for my husband business. Mum full time work from home. Open minded, helpful, caring and I enjoy being able to help šŸ˜Š I know that in the last year everything changed for everyone, but I'm hoping that we can get over everything that comes our way. I want to do a new environment at the preschool for the kids, hopefully we can restart doing fundraising soon so we can help the preschool, and get the parents involved. Like a parent I want everything that it's good for kids. If you have an opinion, suggestions or want to have a discussion with me, Iā€™m happy to discuss. The team management it's brilliant, helpful in any information that you require. I wish everyone an excellent preschool year.

Regards Paula

Claire Ray ā€“ General Committee Member ā€“ Sept 2021

Newport Pagnell born and bred, I am a mother of four wonderful children. All of which have attended Northern Pastures Pre-school. My youngest still attends now.

I have a Fine Art Degree and a Post Graduate in Community Development. I worked as a Community Access Worker with Adults with learning disabilities for 7 years. Originally working with High dependency and later working with those who looked to find voluntary and paid work. Every person I worked with helped me grow as a person and develop my understanding.

I have a PTLL (Preparing to Teach in Lifelong Learning) level 3. This has been invaluable to me with developing my skills to deliver training to adults. For example, I have helped deliver Sign-a-long training to staff and service users at Milton Keynes Council.

I also spent some time volunteering at a Homeless centre and fulfilled a cook role as well as supporting clients and fundraising.

As part of Northern Pastures Committee, I hope to utilise these skills I have developed to help support and grow the Pre-school and its community.

Please feel free to approach me should you have any questions I am always happy to chat. But you can also contact me at NPfundraising@outlook.com. Fundraising is an essential part of this not-for-profit Pre-school so please feel free to approach us if you have anything to add. We are always open to suggestions.
